the first spawn i found some eggs on the floor under a piece of wood while gravel vacuuming.... unfortunately they were already fungus effected...
they lasted a day before they succumb to fungus...
the second spawn i found the eggs on the ground... about 25 eggs laid 3 wide and about 8 long and they looked like they had been laid on a flat surface....
has anybody bred these before and know if they spawn on the glass or on plants or in a cave or under wood or just on the floor... i can pretty much eliminate the floor as its gravel and the eggs were flat like they had been laid on a straight edge...
anyway lost a few to fungus over the first 5 days.... next 3 days they started to change colour from yellow to orange.... then about 8 changed to a brown colour... and now about 5-6 have little black bodies forming up inside the egg... i'd take pics but my camera dont really like close ups....
i've bred plenty of royal and red whips and the giant whips eggs look like they are forming up like a royal whip... but taking a lot longer...
anyway heres a few pics of the colony....
and heres a pic of one male and female so you can see the difference bewtween sexes... mainly head difference
so if anyone has any experience or info on these.... fire away... :hi::hi::hi:
i will be moving them to their own tank soon so with some luck they will do their own parenting.....
what do you think will be the best food to start feeding with when they hatch up...???
