Hi,

The water of this Rio Claro (near São José) flows to the upper Rio Tapajos.

Hi,

That was all from the rain forest.
After breakfast we drove more than 300 km to the south,
to the final destination of our journey: the northern Pantanal.

Hi,

behind Pocone there begins the Transpantaneira. The construction of the Transpantaneira began about 40 years ago. The road should pass through the Pantanal from north to south and the Pantanal should be established as a cattle field. In Mato Grosso there are about 150 km of this road were built.
The road ends today at Porto Jofre. What sounds like a city that is really a hotel and a campsite on the Rio Cuiabá, which there is also the border with Mato Grosso do Sul.

After the long drive from the southern edge of the Amazon rainforest was our destination near the beginning (Km 10) the Transpantaneira, there is the Pousada Piuval (yellow pin).
