Weird pattern or something else?

Spotted this 316 out and about they other day and it seem to have abit of pattern missing from the front of his face:-/

I am pretty sure its not any sort of infection as it looks fine, It just looks like someone has rubbed the pattern out. All other fish show now sign of any problems at all

my thoughts.......either an injury healed over or just strange patterning (birthmark? for lack of a better description). I'm leaning more towards the injury healed over due to the colour difference, if it was just strange patterning, you would expect the whitish area to be the same as on the rest as his body.

Interesting! I honestly can't tell you. When you got the fish did it have this? if not I would assume he rubbed himself against something, perhaps to get some food that was stuck under a rock or something. Thats my guess.
(Or perhaps she scored a pleco scratch ticket and got excited cuz he thought he won?:woohoo

so hard to tell from pics, but I would not rule out some skin damage that is healing...
