yup agree. maybe add some nutrients to your tank water as well, this should get rid of your spots. cheers jk :thumbup:

ok, thanks everyone, yeah, java fern, but was very concerned about it's deterioration , thought maybe a critter was living on them.. did not look like this when I bought it. ok will put it in the tank this weekend .

Just be aware that the submerged version of a java fern will produce black spots too, this is not a disease but growth spores from which new java ferns grow

you might like to clean the plant in salt water then rinse before adding to tank - this will help kill any criters or snails living on plant.

whew,ok thanks for that info, I bought it, looked fine, it has been submerged ( I just pulled it out for a pic) but not in tank water. So the marks are not from critters, cool ,feel 100% better now:nw:
