We have unfortunately lost 2 of these fish now and want to figure out what's going on before moving forward
Water parameters are all good checked regularly with api master test kit
We do have well water and have slightly more alkaline water about 7.5-7.6
I know most fish adapt well if acclimated slowly but after researching these even more i see that they come from very acidic waters originally in the uppers 6's to lower 7 ph
Is our ph just too much for this particular pleco or is something else possibly going on?
I have a green phantom and a bristel in my other tank with the same ph and it has been doing just fine
Thanks everyone for your help!

Hi,

A low pH value, similar to the water of origin, can be good, especially if it is wild caught. Aquarium breeding should tolerate a higher pH value better.
When the pH value is low, there are fewer pathogens in the water.
However, because of a slightly higher pH value (alone), the catfish do not die. There will probably be another problem.

Greetings
