Hi, my l333s and 066 seem to take sooo long to grow! Is that common or didn't I feed them enough? Do they need any special foods beside common algae discs? Thanks

Lol wrong section for this but Scatz or Doodles will move it, you should feed them alot more than algae wafers, as Hypans are more inclined to eat "Meat" based foods, you can try Hikari sinking carnivore, Wardley shrimp pellet, Spectrum thera +a, HBH super soft, fresh prawn, finely grated lean beef heart etc.

Depends what you define as slow. Hypans can grow a bit more slowly than other plecs and most other fish as well. A large part of getting good growth out of your fish is providing adequate space & lots of clean water. Also, being cold blooded, fishs' metabolism wil lincrease with increased water tempertures, demand for food will increase as will waste production & demand for oxygen. Thus providing your fish warm temperatures (within their preffered range), ample food, well filtered and well aerated water & frequent water changes will give them the best opportunity to maximize their growth potential. Be forewarned however that maximized growth can lead to premature death as well.
