I recently found a pair of 181 for sale and have wanted them forever. I was thinking of breeding them in a 10 taking the parents out and putting them in a 32 to live there life while babies grow up. Is pair breeding even possible or is colony the only way?

Plecos can be placed in a small aquarium for breeding experiments. But you should always keep this under control, as the plecos can see each other as competitors and then attack each other and there is no room there to avoid each other.
In the long run, such a small aquarium is too small.
