going to buy a new tank but what filtration?

My hubby and I have decided that in the next few weeks we are going to buy a new tank. We're currently getting prices for a 6x2x2 and an 8x2x2 (will depend on spare cash at the time of purchase lol).

Problem being what type of filtration will be better?

The tank is going to hold

1xL001 @25cm
1xL001 @30cm
1xchoc plec @20cm
1xchoc plec @15cm
1xgibbi @20cm
1x common @52cm

It's just going to be a plec only tank with just those 6 plecs.

So what i want to know is with the massive poop discharge from these fellas would i better off with a fx5 filter or a sump? and would a fx5 be big enough for an 8x2x2 if we go with that tank or would i need to buy 2 or just get a bigger sump?

We're going to buy new filtration anyway as the one in the 6x18x20 they are in now is going to stay with it.

i really like the FX5, but would def want more than that on an 8x2, i have an FX5 and tetratec ex1200 on my 2m tank and they cope fine but i'm lightly stocked. I've never had any experience with sumps but i'd think you would probably be better off looking down this route

Yeah I would definitely look into having a sump. Theres a few peeps that have one so hopefully someone can help out more.

Use a sand filter with zeolite in it

I would use a Sandfilter with zeolite as media

With the sand filter, all you have to do is backwash, to clean the media.
It takes 2 yrs before you'll have to change the media
