Difference in height of fins

Hello people:hi:

I have notice with my metae young that some have a really tall dorsal fin. All the adults have a short fin. Anyone know why?

Short fin young

I think it's just a stage of growth, look at this link to a 4 week old brochis splendens, you wouldn't think it was the same fish as the adults.
