Neocaridina sp. shrimp

How to breed ?

Step 1 Buy half a dozen from LFS. Because they looked nice.

Step 2 Put in Pleco tank 4' L134 beading set up..

Step 3 After a few days only ever see 4.

Step 4 See sheded skin about and a couple carrying eggs.

Step 5 Never think you will see young as Corys and Danios will eat them.

Step 6 Worry about your L134's not breading for a few weeks.

Step 7 Do regular water changes.

Step 8 Clean External Filter and find about 30 young SHRIMP !!!!

Not a real breeding log but if this keeps up, as the females are all carrying eggs again, will but babies in with my little cherry shimp tank !

Oh thats great ..
Loved the step by step lol )
Congrats on your surprise baby shrimp..thats wonderful you found some hiding...
I'd put those babies in a shrimp only tank if I were you..if they go back in the parent tank the fish will find & eat them...Good Luck

Congrats.
Titles a bit misleading though. Amano shrimp are Caridina sp. and pretty much require brackish water for shrimplet survival. Thye're very difficult to get shrimplets (that survive) out of. Neocaridinia are the Cherry shrimps and the like. Pretty much breed like rabbits.

You either do not have amano shrimp or you do not have baby shrimp. Amano shrimp will not reproduce in fresh water, ever. The larvae have to be moved to saltwater and need green water to survive. After they morph, they have to be slowly returned to fresh water and that takes a lot of effort. I suspect you have a type of grass/ghost shrimp, not amano shrimp.
