i recently purchased some l333's who don't seem to like eating alge wafers but seem to just munch on my driftwood, most and have since realised that my other l's seem to be doing a similar thing as their poos are all about the colour of their various pieces of driftwood... is this good for them? and what can happen from them solely eating the wood?

Most plecs will suck away on the driftwood. It is actually believed to be good for them as it is part of the food they would find in the wild. Panaques are known as the wood eaters of the loricariidae family with wood being their main source of food.
L333's however are a hypancistrus species and require more variety in food apart from algae wafers.
Diet: An Omnivore that leans towards a meatier diet, so foods like frozen bloodworm, Carnivore pellets, Earthworm sticks, Tetra Prima should be provided It doesnt hurt to also introduce some veg once in a while to their diet.
have a look at our profile on the L333 here
