Hi all,
No they don't really eat any green growing plants, although they will have a go at vegetables etc. Not many things do eat Java fern, usually herbivorous fish and snails ignore it.

Never known malaysian trumpet snails to eat plants normally just fish food lying around and yes veggies like cucumber etc.

I heard they were actually good for plants as they turn the substrate over.

Once they get in your tank they will increase quick so if you don't want loads of them take them out and get rid as soon as you see them.
