Hi,
I've recently picked up a group of 13 sterbai ranging for 2 - nearly 3" and wanted to attempt breeding them. They are currently in a 5ft with Geos, Rams and Panaques but there is the possibility of moving some/all to a spare 2ft. So any experience or advice is welcome.

Mine breed at a pH of 6.5 TDS 120 Temp 80F
Plenty of good grub & large cool 70F water changes.
I've nowhere to hatch them, so I pull the eggs out
& chuck em in the first chamber of my sump.
Any that I leave in the tank don't survive,
even though it's only the cory's in the tank.
After about a month, I can fish em out and add
them to the group. I do this with about 30
eggs a months from which I get maybe 15
young. I don't do anything in the sump, so they
are basically doing it themselves. They must
be feeding on anything that goes down the overflow.
When I fish em out, I change the matting in the
chamber & start again. Strange but true.

In a community tank the females will hold their eggs until they look fit to burst. Keep an eye on who they think the favoured males are and when the time is right, move them to a breeding tank. Once the eggs are laid, move the parents back to the community tank as they will eat them.

I have a small colony at 4-5cm which are showing breeding behaviour now, but have had nothing to do with corydoras in the past.
