Would go with apple snail eggs as think they are pink though never had any myself, they do climb out the water to lay them

it's up to you if you want to have lots of little apple snails lol.

But something you should keep in mind - apple snails go out of the water to lay eggs, but they also like to venture out occasionally for a stroll so make sure that you have all exits out of the tank covered otherwise you'll never know where the little buggers have gotten to.

If you don't want to breed them, then just make sure the water line is close enough to the lids that they have no room to lay their eggs.

if you would like some more apple snails I can post you some (for cost of postage -not a lot as dont need heat pads or anything fancy like fish.)
mine lay eggs a lot, mostly i remove them, but let some hatch, they are not all fertile. they will take a couple of weeks or more to hatch.
they are good to have in the tank if you want to raise small fry.

No thanks ta, I have a male in my edge. I used the "applesnail.net"
Site to sex them, that was fun doin that.the 2 snails
Have never meet, so he's not the daddy.
I think I'll leave them in there,I'll keep an
Eye on my assassin when thay hatch cos I know
He'll be lickin his lips when he sees them.

Checked the eggs today, seam to be gettin darker.
I'm not sure wot happins to mummy after she
Laid her eggs but I found her dead today.
I don't know if my assassin got her or not,
She is nearly 4 times the assassins size.
The other fish are eaten the remains, loads
Came out when I removed her.

Sorry you lost the adult...

I used to breed them every now and again, make sure you do lots of water changes and if you want to - add calcuim to the water, a horde of growing apple snails strip calcium out of the water like there is no tomorrow!

on a side note - Apple snails smell SO bad when they die!
