Just sharing some good news. They can be captive bred!

Xanto Papa guarding cave with Mama giving moral support nearby...

Very difficult to take pics of the fries with Papa blocking the cave entrance at all time!

Can u spot the baby?

Spotted 5 fries darting around in the cave when I shone a light into the cave. Keeping my finger crossed that there are more than 5 fries. The male kicked out 2 dead fries from the cave. Papa and mama Xanto are fully morphed (100% yellow) but black patches started to appear on Papa Xanto during breeding period (Parenting stress?)

Will try to post some pics of the black coloured fries when they leave the cave....

Cheers!

Hi Ken, well done indeed. hope for more photos soon. It is a pity, as to all accounts, in captivity they usually do go dark at some stage. They do not know why, possibly a diet issue, but again well done .cheers jk
