Does anyone here still use R/O ?
I changed over to HMA nearly a year ago
It's easier to keep the water chemistry stable and my tap water is quite soft anyway
The osmosis salts were getting expensive to buy as well
I still do add a small amount of the dennerle osmose salt though :)

Edit
What I mean is that I think that unless you have hard water I now think that R/O is probably overkill and I have found that HMA works really well it takes out all the nasties from the tap water

Yes Pete I still use RO but I also use HMA, I use a mix of them both on a couple of my tanks and straight HMA on the others, I do live in a hard water area though, and I'm on a water meter :wb:

A water meter yes that's a pain if you're using R/O
we were advised to have a water meter fitted as there is just the two of us here but with running the tanks and two ponds in the garden thought it wasn't a good plan:)
