your last point "stand the same conditions" is for me the key
many things impact on conditions and as I said we cant ask the fish if they are "Happy"
So does that mean if 2 different fish from 2 different parts of the world who live live in similar conditions were put in the same tank then it would be ok?

You can't ask a dog if it is happy but can usually tell if it wags its tail. With a fish you can normally tell if it isnt happy by colour, how active it is, if it feeds etc and usually if it is belly up floating around the tank then I normally think that fish is not happy.

Sadly I hate dogs so I dont give a dam what they feel

If you feel your able to tell a organisams staet of health and wellbeing from looking then crack on
Sadly i hope never to use death as a indicator of unhappyness
Apart from children and dogs that is then it is an indicator of my happymess

for gods sake lol, sorry you hate dogs. I don't really think it is funny if a fish is dead floating around a tank you know.

My labrador will be very offended rofl.

I am trying to make valid points with out trying to be over serious :)

Sorry Bob.
