Hi folks,

I found a small cluster of eggs left alone in a cave while i was changing the water. I'm puzzle as to why this has happened. Anyway i put the eggs in the tumbler and I was wondering why the male was not protecting them.

Can someone please share some light on this phenomenon.

Cheers

sometimes males are still young and immature, it could be they were spooked as well. Was it the first spawn ? anyway, the good news is you have eggs, let hope they are fertile and good luck. I am sure the male will get better at this as time goes by. cheers jk

Thanks Jk. I was a bit surprise cause in the previous spawn it was pretty damn hard to get the male to leave the cave.

Good one John, :0) maybe he's like me gone out for a smoke leaving the kids to their own domain.

Its a good thing what happened cause I saw some heads and tails developing from them eggs this morning.

All eggs were fertilized. Unfortunately all heads and tails had Fungal infection and did not survive. I tried to separate the eggs from the cluster but It was all too late.

I should have left them alone in the cave.
