Thread is open to anyone wishing to share fish-macro photography

Please post freely so that we may learn together

I found it extremely challenging to get sharp photos possibly because of low light, harsh flash and tank glass refraction

I applied some post sharpening which i kinda regret now

These are new born guppy fries at about 3mm to 4mm

Have plenty of them all year round

Thank you for your kind words ccole

Of cos you may see them before editing

I didnt save a copy of the original files though
(and thats the regret i was talking about)

I found two other images which i didnt like very much
(taken at the same time, cropping done, no sharpening)

Hopefully i will have some energy to take more photos tonight

These fries are really fun and skittish

Thank you Pirarucu and xingu

Simple setup
nikon d90 - afs105vr micro - pop up flash

Some more photos taken last night

I realised that the glass behind is reflecting my flash, causing the fry to look unsually transparent

It seems better when the background is black/dark
(eg. when the fry is in front of the filter)

Thanks, and yes agree wit works better with a dark background.

Good results for the onboard flash as well.
