i want to move my peppies into a bigger already established tank, my question is will they breed with a sand substrate?

I dont see why not! I have bred them with bare bottom tanks and now breeding them with a gravel bottom. They don't seem to really care! :)

ditto as above... with or without :) my tank decides to be half sand and half glass due to the powerheads lol
