Picked up a couple of small L002 today at LFS. Then looked in another tank and they had some juvinial L027's in there all the same markings. Neadles to say i got one as my wife loves them.

Anyway i was tinking on way home it does not lok totaly like a L027 thought it may be a L191.

Could some one confirm what he/she is ?? I know stripes ect change as he matures. He is about 2" and half long.

Thanks

Easy way to remember if its a L191 or not, is to use there common name Dull eyed royal panaque. All L27's have red eye's, as do L190 but L191's do not. Cute little fella:clap:

L191 as they mature the caudal penducle gets darker, almost black. another possibility is L418 the shampupa royal which comes out of peru. when they're juveniles the color patterns are similar to L191 as well as the color of the eyes. as the L418 matures the tail not only gets darker it develops yellow on the tips of the tail, dorsal & pectoral fins.
