I’m looking for something that doesn’t get too big but isn’t too shy and is still active. Want something that has nice color and pattern don’t really care about price or anything list away. Will be housed in a 35 gallon South American community tank

Hi,

it's difficult to find active plecos. In my opinion, this is more a property of the concrete individual than of the species. The location of the aquarium and its surroundings also play a role.

There are some plecos for an aquarium with 120 liters. Unfortunately, only a few are in commerce.

I think, plecos from the genera Peckoltia or Hypancistrus are closest to your vision.

Please note the concrete keeping requirements.

Greetings
