I currently have an Oscar fish in a 3ft tank depending how it goes may need to upgrade to a bigger tank as he's growing fast! I have always wanted a pleco <3 id love to get one just want to make sure which one and if its right for my current situation.

Welcome, a fish that can handle itself with the Oscar,first a tank upgrade a 6ft by 2 by 2 ,would be first than a larger pleco (something that he wont eat ) that is either a meat based eater would be best, you will need good filter as the Oscar and pleco are messy fish.
The pleco needs a couple of good hiding spots a cave or large pot and a large bit of driftwood best to use a softwood and ahardwood in any opleco tank.
