I had my first spawn of 144's LF just before X-mas and found that
I had a mixture of both LF & SF.
I started looking closer at the parents and found that one of the females had
medium length finage (not SF but not as long as the others)
I also noticed that one of the other females had a small black spot on the base of her dorsal fin.
On closer inspection of the fry I noticed that one of the SF young had a 'BLACK CAP'.
Anyone else had these type of offspring before?
He is pretty shy and hangs around the back of the tank, so apologies for the picture clarity, taken through the 20" of water.

had a few colour variations.... had an albino slowly morph into a common over a couple months...

the black spot on your parent could be from fighting/scuffed up on sharp object... normally heal up as a black/brown spot....

or it could be just that a black spot from birth... or maybe its gonna morph into a common....

as these fish are cross bred a lot there are bound to be the odd genetic throw back. as long as they are healthy dont worry.
