Hi,

Panaque suttoni, that is no valid specie. It's a name from vendores to sell Panaque cochliodon better. It's a reference to Panaque suttonorum which we don't bye in time of war in Colombia.
Your pleco is too green for this both species.

I think on your picture there is an old Panaque sp. "L 418".

Greetings
Elko

Hi,

sorry, that was not quite right. Also:

In 1944 Mr. Leonard P. Schulz described Panaque suttoni.
He wrote (p. 311): "Named suttoni in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Sutton ...". It's a man and a woman. Therefore, the correct spelling is suttonorum.
In 1980 Isbrücker still wrote P. suttoni.
At the least from 1997 different ichthyologists wrote P. suttonorum.
I did not find the exact date for the change.
Regardless, some Panaque cochliodon was sold as Panaque suttoni for the above reason.
Today Panaque suttonorum is valid.

Greetings
Elko
