Hi,

I have a 15cm female cichlid I would like to know what she is...

I definitely know she's a female because she has held many times before...

She was given to me after her man died so I didn't get a chance to see how he looked like...

Please reply if you know or think you know what she is...

But my fish has straight barring opposed the the venustus with blotched markings...

ive dealt with cichlids for a long time and i dont think ive seen this fish before which is why im lead to think its a cross bred fish. the chitimbas have a much shorter face and the eye positioning in the head is conpletely different. as you can see with your fish it has a very elongated head/nose/beak area compared to the chitimba. is there anyway you can find out what else was in the tank it came from?

No, as the previous owner has no idea of what the fishes he had were called...

I guess your response sounds about right, as you've been around a lot of cichlids so I'll take your answer!!!
