Hi
Has anyone has success with making homemade bristlenose food
containing pure spirulina, zuchinni and agar agar?

Ive tried a few different ratio's of the three but my trouble is when it touches the water it seems to disolve and turn the water green.

Also after taking it out of the freezer after a few days it goes back to a soft state?
Is it meant to do that or should it be left in the freezer all the time?

If anyone has had any success with the correct mixing ratios and/or other ingredients I would love to know how to correct this
thanks caveman

hey
not sure what you mean with preparing the agar
I just buy it in a pack and slowly mix it into the mixture of spirulina and hot water and stir till it is a paste

Directions I believe is to boil the agar agar then add the other stuff. If you don't heat it enough you might not get the chemical reaction required to get it to gel. That's probably what's happening.

I mix mine up with a small amount of boiling water, twice as much spirulina as agar, then spread it onto the slates, never had it disolve quickly in the water
