L024 Flame Cactus

I have a flame cactus pleco L024 and I can't find a lot of info on them? He lives with a flower horn who hogs all the food even the pleco wafers. I've done night feeding but I'd just like to know more about them. Do they eat algae and other waste like other Plecos? On top of veggies, pellets, and bloodworms any info would be great. I chose it because of the armor and protection. He has lots of hiding places but I would just feel better knowing he's eating. Thanks, Oh and I did suction cup a zucchini in front of his hide but he hasn't seemed interested. Its only been a week butI'd just like to know more about it. thanks!

Hi,

Pseudacanthicus pitanga (L 24) feeds like other cactus plecos predominantly carnivor: meat from shells, fishes, crabs ... , carnivore chips / pellets. Occasionally they also eat vegetarian food, but that also takes some getting used to.

Greetings
Elko

Thanks so much for that info and link! The Flowerhorn mostly gets pellets but I am going to be implementing meats, What frequency do you recommend? Nightly or every few days? Again thanks!

Hi,

I donīt have cactus plecos. But I have a lot other plecos. For adult plecos, I give feet three or four times a week. I think that is better than daily.

Greetings
Elko
