i have some large silver perch in a big tank and a 30cm albino gibbi and goldspot and a half dozen common b/n to do the greenery cleaning....

today i found a male guarding some eggs wedged into back bottom corner of the tank - he was galant in fighting off silver perch and even bigger plecs but in the end he got knocked off the eggs by a silver perch and lost his prize... he put up a good effort while i was watching - he'd prob been fighting all night.... when he came back to the corner to find all but a few eggs gone you could almost see the disappointment on his face :dk:

goes to show you common b/n will try and breed in a tank even without a cave and much bigger predators....
