Name: Riccia Fluitans

Location in Tank: Floating/Foreground

Demands: Easy as a floating plant. Medium as a foreground

Water parameters: Not fussy

Lighting: Not fussy

CO2 required?: For best results as a foreground plant CO2 is recommended

Growth rate: Fast

Country of origin: Multiple

Additional Info: As a floating plant this is great for creating shade and a refuge for fry. Riccia comes into its own as a foreground plant. Once tied to a stone or piece of wood it will form a lovely dense carpet, it will not however attach itself to the stone/wood as some mosses do. When using CO2, Riccia in its submerged form will produce beautiful oxygen bubbles from the tip of each "branch", This is known as pearling.
