Six months ago I bought four little fellows in a local shop as "loricaria sp".
Now I have sexed two of them (a male and a female). The two remaining still unsexed.
The female is ripe. She looks "needed to lay the eggs" and enters in the male´s pipe frecuently, but there´s no breeding by now.
I want to identify them correctly the species (in other forum they told me that they´re Hemiloricaria eigenmanni, I believe that they´re, but I need to be sure).
Here some pictures taken at their arrival.
Hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance.

Did you get them id'd as Hemiloricaria eigenmanni even with the white belly?
I saw thread on pc and wonder if it was confirmed.

have you looked at the Planet Catfish species page?

From there

'This is a very common species. Easily identified by the combination of barred fins and the dark lines on the ventral sides of the tail.'

Then by that defnintion it can't be Eigenmanni I guess.

I had a very similar fish that I never got a correct ID on.

How does H. hasemani compare to your fish? That is what I guessed mine to be.
