Hi all,
Plant in the first photo with the purple leaves is Hemigraphis, and it isn't an aquatic.

It really p*sses me off that retailers can get away with selling these.

Yes take it out, it won't grow, and as it starts to decay it will reduce water quality, rather than improve it.

It is a rant, but there is a serious point. Have a look here: <21 plants to avoid in the aquarium>

Actively growing plants are the single factor that has the most effect on water quality. Plants are a "win, win" situation, as long as they are growing.

There are plenty of plants that will grow in nearly every tank, so why is it acceptable to sell ordinary plants as aquarium plants? it certainly shouldn't be.
