so I have a 5g q-tank. Took the last 4 fish out , 2 at a time , 2 weeks ago. Left the tank running with no fish for the past 2 weeks , yet I still have nitrates . ( am-0, ni-0) ph 7.5.

I thought there must be fish in there or loose the cycle. NI -30. as I said , i have not touched it in 2 weeks.

Want to get more fish, should i do a wc first ? Filter is a AC 50 and an air stone.

Why is the tank still cycled without fish ???? thanks

Nitrates won't go away without water changes or live plants. Bacteria will go away eventually without fish in the tank or so.is added. How fast I can't say.

The bacteria may have died off in the mean time, or you may still have a few. Test the water frequently after adding the fish as it may not be fine. Can you swap some filter media over from another tank just in case?
