canister recommendation?

Hi guys, its been an absolute eternity since i posted here, but i need some help.
i had an ehiem 2080 and have had nothing but trouble with it. after having sent for repairs numerous times, it just kept failing and i have lost almost all my fish.
:cry: could anyone recommend a reliable powerful filter, my tank is 550 litres and i keep messy fish.

What about something like the Eheim Classic line or Fluval FX5. Never used the Fluval but seems to be a tank-buster standard. I've got a couple of smaller Eheim classics that i've been using since about 1994 and they were given to me by someone who had been using them previously. In all the years all i've ever changed were the canister seal and impeller. Bare bones but then not much to go wrong either.

Eheim 2217 are the best. All I have is eheim and I love them. good luck cheers jk :thumbup:
