Hey everyone, I'm new here and to the hobby,
I got a few birstlenose plecos from someone and they look pretty sick, some sort of fungi growing on them and possibly ich.

I have started dosing the tank with Tri sulpha tabs as per instructions on the bottle and the look a little better however now I can't see a red sore under the fungi as it is starting to clear up.

Should I continue dosing the tri sulpha and add something else to help with the sores? Ie: shield or stress coat?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Current readings:

Amm: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 4
Ph: 6.8

Temp 25.9'C

usually catties heal up very quickly and dont need much to aid them... but sounds like a bacteria infection took hold followed by a fungal infection....

first up i'd try some melafix and pimafix... as per label instruction....

if you dont see any improvement in a day or 2 you'll need something stronger which you'll need to source from a good fish shop who has good knowledge of fish and infections etc...
