my Para plecs certainly recognise me, they are all over the front and top of the glass as soon as i go near the tank, they feed from my hand but aren't so forthcoming with other people. not sure that...

I mix mine up with a small amount of boiling...

I mix mine up with a small amount of boiling water, twice as much spirulina as agar, then spread it onto the slates, never had it disolve quickly in the water

2 and 4 are def males, and 3 is female. i'll have to say i'm with you on fish 1 too, nothing screaming male but not quite got the female shape either, possibly an immature/ subdominant male

I think its something that every serious aquarist...

I think its something that every serious aquarist goes through from time to time.
I have come to terms with it now and know that eventually i'll get over it and find some enthusiam for it all again....
