Due to some rather large electricity bills I've been informed I need to cut back or start paying towards the bills. So my question is, is it possible to breed plecs to cover annual bills of around £500?

Im a complete noob to any sort of fish breeding. I could probably spare a 300 litre and 70 litre tank.

My initial thoughts from what I 'know' would be to try Hypancistrus zebra. I think that these would fit my needs. So realistically, how many fry could I expect to raise per year from 1 pair? Time to grow to a saleable size? Price I can expect per fry? Difficulty/ease of selling them?

Any thoughts and experience welcome.

Hi all,

Just wanting a general consensus really...

You will probably have seen our ad for wild L-number pleco, well we wanted to ask if people would be interested in an importing service where you get to choose what comes in? Basically we would send you a list of the possible pleco (lots and lots) and you could pick what you wanted. They could be collected from north London or delivered near by same day. Further a field would need to be worked out.

Imports can come from Brazil,Columbia,Germany and more. Not just L numbers either many other pleco can be obtained.

THIS IS JUST AN IDEA WE ARE NOT A UP AND RUNING BUSINESS!

Thanks for your help

Kev&Vicki

After spending most if this year away from Forum actuvuty I though it might be time for me to make a return. Hello to all those that remember me nice to see some old names and faces still rattling the keyboard - Gee, Matabula, Gecko to name a few. I have spent a few months away from plecs and have sold pretty every pleco I had, I went into a new area for me in un-identified and unusual characins, which i have a nice collection building up. However a mis-purchased psycho has meant that I will be re-shuffling them aswell before long as he is trying to eat or kill everything with a tail.

For those that don't know me, just ignore everything I type I don't know much about plecos or there origins but I may feel the urge to pretend I do

For those that remember me as a fish I finder I have intentions of returning to that part of my hobby. I have mu sights set a c ouple of stray 333 and a group of Hypans probably 66s that came in pre-ban. These may be in my back room in the not to imminent future.

Nice to be back, hope its still a cool place to hang out. And I'm looking forward to what people are keeping these days

:hi:

Hi,

Would really appreciate some advice or tricks of the trade on getting my zebs to spawn. I have tried all the tricks I know like simulating the rainy season (water change at a lower temp). I'm not bothered if they just take their time as this is how we have got all our other pleco to breed for example starlight bn.

Any advice would be great though.

Thanks very much
